Congratulations to Herefordshire Housing Ltd on achieving the Investors in Excellence Standard.
Herefordshire Housing Ltd is a not-for-profit housing company (limited by guarantee), registered with the Tenant Services Authority as a registered provider and the Charity Commission as a charity. Herefordshire Housing was established after the tenants of Herefordshire Council voted in favour of a stock transfer and provides landlord and housing related services to 5,500 homes in Herefordshire.
In the 8 years since transfer, Herefordshire Housing has developed into a complex and forward thinking organisation. In 2009 the organization was assessed by the Audit Commission as providing a ‘good’, two star service that has excellent prospects for improvement
Careline the social alarm monitoring arm, supports 26,000 customers nationwide and the team of Housing Support Advisors work with around 150 vulnerable customers in their homes. Each year Herefordshire Housing receives 300,000 telephone calls, carry out 20,000 repairs and invest over £11 million improving tenants homes.
Herefordshire Housing already has a sound approach to continuous improvement based on service improvement driven by good business intelligence.
Peter Brown, Chief Executive commented “Investors in Excellence has provided a holistic framework for organisational improvement, helping us to reflect on our areas for improvement and promote our strengths.”
“This approach has allowed us to focus our activities in a more efficient way and led to positive outcomes that are visible to the customer. The Standard has allowed us to benchmark with and learn from other ‘excellent’ organisations outside of the social housing sector”
Peter then went on to say “Being recognised as an IiE is a tremendous achievement that throws a spotlight on the hard work colleagues have put in to making Herefordshire Housing the successful organisation we see today.”
Congratulations once again to Herefordshire Housing Ltd!
