Excellence is a Cycle… and Sir Bradley knows it.

cycling-helmetGB excellence continues at the Track Cycling World Championships in London.  Laura Trott won the scratch race gold, beating Netherlands rider Kirsten Wild, and Sir Bradley Wiggins and the British men’s pursuit team had to settle for silver.

Becky James put three years of injury problems behind her with a bronze for GB in the keirin race.

Despite missing out this time, Wiggins still believes GB can win gold in Rio, saying: “I’ll put my house on it, I’ll say we’ll win in Rio now. I’m confident and I just think we will.”

As with any organisation, the way in which the efforts of participants are measured is most visibly seen in the results they achieve.  One single result may not always be a fair reflection of the contributions made by a team, but the overall goal will be one of continuous improvement.  The Investors in Excellence Standard enables organisations to identify What Matters Most to them, and then assess and apply continuous improvement to the outcomes in these vital areas.

On any programme of improvement, there will be small and large gains, as well as the occasional challenging result to address and overcome in a positive manner.  IiE has helped a vast array of organisations to get better by using proven Approaches to achieve great results.

Remember, as Sir Bradley knows, even if you miss the big prize – especially this weekend – his mum still loves him!
