The Birmingham Post Growth Fund is an investment fund, financed by the Department for Business Innovation & Skills, through their Regional Growth Fund initiative.
The Birmingham Post, in partnership with Bournville College, secured £5 million to invest in small and medium sized businesses to enable them to create a minimum of 250 new, long term jobs and assist businesses develop the skills they need to be able to grow successfully.
The Fund offers grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 for expansion and growth ideas and initiatives that will directly create jobs across Birmingham, Coventry and Solihull over the next two years.
The objective is to stimulate private sector investment by providing support for businesses that offer significant potential for long term economic growth and the creation of additional sustainable private sector jobs.
The Fund aims to help support small and medium sized businesses in those areas and communities that are currently dependent on the public sector in particular, to enable them to make the transition to a more private sector led economy.
