Severnside Housing is re-certified against the Investors in Excellence Standard

Congratulations to Severnside Housing on their recent re-certification against the Investors in Excellence Standard.

Severnside Housing is one of Shropshire’s largest social landlords, and currently owns and maintains more than 5,300 homes in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas. It is a not for profit company that exists to provide affordable housing and services to support the tenants who live in its homes.

Severnside Housing was established in October 2001, following the transfer of housing stock from the former Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council. At the time of transfer, Severnside made a commitment to improve homes and services and guaranteed the protection of tenants’ rights and rent levels.

Severnside is currently working through its five year £27 million improvement programme and a key element is it recognises that an organisation is only as good as its staff. It is committed to encouraging everyone’s potential and inspiring them to aim for excellence as part of a successful team. It has recently received both Investors in People and Investors in Excellence status.

Using the Investors in Excellence Standard and achieving re-certification Severside Housing has been able to demonstrate a high standard of all round business performance. The Standard covers all of Severnside Housing’s key business areas including leadership, people and customer results but the scope of the standard is such that it also provides a powerful improvement tool.

Ian Nield, CEO of Investors in Excellence commented “ Originally recognised against the IiE Standard in 2008, Severnside Housing has continued to focus on its customers to drive its improvement activity and re-certification is a testament to all staff involved in the organisations excellence journey. Many congratulations”.
