We are delighted to announce that Trent & Dove housing have achieved the Investors in Excellence Standard Re-accreditation for the second time.
Trent & Dove was formed in 2001 to take on the transfer of East Staffordshire Council’s housing stock. It became a charitable Housing Association in 2009 providing over 5,300 quality affordable homes across East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire for rent, and to buy on a shared ownership basis.
Trent & Dove Housing also work with the local Council and other key partners to provide quality advice and services to homeless and vulnerable people. Their Mission is to ‘transform homes, lives and neighbourhoods’.
The Government’s target for all social housing to meet a basic Decent Homes Standard by the end of 2010 was met by the organisation nearly a full year ahead of the target date. In all cases their homes have been refurbished to a far higher standard than the basic requirement.
Trent & Doves activities cover far more than just ‘bricks and mortar’ and they devote substantial resources to working with Partners and local residents to build vibrant communities and neighbourhoods where people aspire to live.
The regulator for Trent & Dove has also awarded the highest levels of assessment values across our business including the highest assessment for financial viability available, a tremendous achievement given the current economic environment.
Since making the decision to adopt the Investors in Excellence Standard and the Excellence model, Trent & Dove have used the principles to reinforce their standing within the housing world.
Ron Dougan, CEO of Trent & Dove commented “The model has provided us with a framework for whole organization improvement. It has helped us look at improvements within the company holistically and ensured that improvements to service are sustainable and linked to corporate aims and objectives.”
Within the community, Trent & Dove are highly regarded and have received accolades from local businesses. Their influence with the local council; other community partners; and nationally within the housing sector continues to grow.
Talking widely about the Standard, Ron went on to say “It is a whole organization improvement framework that helps to identify strengths and areas for improvement. The Model goes beyond anything that simple adherence to the Audit Commission KLOEs and Best Value can achieve for housing organizations and council housing departments. To be a 3-star organization means going beyond the KLOEs and a robust and tested framework of excellence identifies to stakeholders that the business is serious about continuous improvement and understands that many different factors are involved in order to be an excellent company.”
“We believe that the Investors in Excellence Standard provides recognition of continued progress on our journey towards being an excellent organisation. The model has become embedded within our culture. To be seen by our peers, regulators and stakeholders as exemplars in providing excellent services is a fantastic achievement.”
Congratulations once again to Trent & Dove Housing on their second Re-accreditation.
